Dr Lu is a direct disciple of Dr Zhu and the director of Zhu’s Neuro Acupuncture & Rehabilitation Centre.

Dr. Lu, a licensed Acupuncturist and Physical Therapist, has been in the medical profession for over 20 years.  He has worked as Director of Rehabilitation and Senior Physical Therapist in a variety of settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers and private clinics. His primary experience has been in the realms of orthopedics, stroke rehabilitation, balance/vestibular disorders and pain management. Dr. Lu holds a doctorate in Physical Therapy from The University of St. Augustine, and a Master’s of Science from The American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

In 2003, he completed advanced training in manual therapy and received his certification from The University of St. Augustine, and in 2004 was certified by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialty as an Orthopedic Specialist. Dr. Lu also has extensive training in the neuro-developmental treatment (NDT) approach tailored to post-stroke and neurologically-impaired patients.

Through his study and experience, Dr. Lu found that combining acupuncture with rehabilitation enabled maximum potentials for patients’ recovery, with a minimum of pain. He has, ever since, dedicated his career to this integrative treatment approach.

In 2011, Dr. Lu began following Professor Ming Qing Zhu’s work, and completed two years of courses in Zhu’s Scalp Acupuncture training. In the same year, he pioneered the first outpatient acupuncture program at the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), a company that includes 162 hospitals and 113 free-standing surgery centers in England and 20 U.S. states. Shortly thereafter, this acupuncture program was extended to the pre- and post-operative ICU/in-patient care for patients undergoing cardiac and thoracic surgeries. In 2014, this integrative approach was introduced to the Bayshore Interdisciplinary Inpatient Rehabilitation Center to facilitate the recovery of stroke, surgery and other illnesses.

In addition to his specialisations in orthopedics and stroke rehabilitation, Dr. Lu also has extensive experience in treating gastrointestinal, neurological, chronic, allergic and cancer treatment-related disorders. Along with all that, Dr. Lu has been a national champion in Chen TaiChi for five consecutive years in China and the U.S.!
